Meritage Active Construction Process

Purchasing a new home is one of the most important decisions you will make in your lifetime. We are here to guide and assist you through the construction process and beyond to ensure that it is a smooth and enjoyable experience. Below are the eight key steps we will go through together to build you a high quality, beautiful new home. You can see that Meritage Active will be there with you well beyond the close of your home.
STEP 1: The Pre-Construction Meeting gives you the opportunity to meet with the construction team who will answer any questions about the building process. All selections and options will be reviewed for accuracy. Your sales associate and construction superintendent want to be sure you clearly understand all the stages in the building process. The meeting will start at the Model Center, and weather permitting, you will travel to your actual homesite to discuss the placement of the house, fence line, grade issues and easements. STEP 2: Pre Drywall Orientation takes place before drywall is installed on a house so that we can show you how Meritage Active homes are built. The primary goal of this meeting is to familiarize you with the process, methods and materials used to construct your home and give you a strong idea of what your finished home will look like. Both your Sales Associate and Construction Superintendent will attend the orientation. STEP3: Quality Assurance Walk. Meritage Active goes beyond other builders to assure that the level of workmanship and condition of materials on a Meritage Active home are of sufficiently high quality. The Quality Assurance walk is conducted by our Quality Assurance inspector approximately five days prior to the scheduled Final Homebuyer Orientation. Our inspector strives to identify any remaining items that need to be addressed before you see your home prior to closing. STEP 4: Final Customer Orientation. Our experienced Construction Superintendent will walk you through every part of your home to demonstrate the high quality features and mechanical aspects of the house, review service procedures, provide maintenance and care tips, as well as explain the warranty on the home and how to have service done, if needed. This will occur approximately 5 days before you close on your home. Your Construction Superintendent will note any items that require attention, and will also introduce you to your Customer Care Associate who will take care of you and your home during your warranty period. STEP 5: Orientation Acceptance occurs on the day of your closing. This step provides another opportunity for you and your construction superintendent to meet and walk through your finished home. If any items needed attention at the Final Customer Orientation, your superintendent will show you how they were addressed. STEP 6: Customer Care Post-Closing Review. At this meeting, your Customer Care representative will review and evaluate warranty needs, address any items requiring adjustments, answer any operational questions about the home, and review maintenance and care tips. STEP 7: One Year Home Care Review takes place after you have lived in your home for a year. Your Customer Care representative will address any warranty issues or other questions you may have. |
